SPIRIT TRIBE SESSIONS
Music is a communal language that can offer connection to the rhythms of life, connection to nature, our humanity, roots, ancestors and so offer a sense of belonging. Spirit Tribe Sessions touches on various styles of electronic dance music to acknowledge this diversity. Genres include deep, atmospheric, cultural and tribal styles of electronica, downtempo, dubstep, psy-trance , ambient and jungle dnb.
A spark of the divine is often considered to be aided by spiritual music and processes for engaging in meditative or altered states of consciousness that transcend our ‘ordinary’ thinking minds. For example, Christian prayer and worship music, Buddhist chanting, Sufi trance dancing, aboriginal dreamtime, shamanic vision quest and modern forms of euphoric dance music and psychedelic rock. All offer a meditative aspect and avenue to spirit – connection.
I take inspiration from the above and hope to offer a musical avenue to such spirit – connection that is free from labels or constraints with styles of music that I am familiar with playing. All kinds of music can aid us in life in different ways. This project, however, has a conscious and visionary focus with electronic dance beats providing energy, cultural and atmospheric overtones to aid a sense of belonging… At an hours journey length to be immersive but not too much.
Music and meditation have played a powerful healing role in my own life. To be able to combine tracks into a journey and share this with others has fascinated me since having my first set of decks. It’s a process that’s grown with me and is a pleasure and passion to be involved with that offers me a deep-rooted sense of purpose.

SPIRIT VISION SESSIONS
Genre – Deep and tribal house + trance… Much in the same vein as Spirit Tribe Sessions but with steady, repetitive beats to further meditation for those who enjoy this style of music.
Bruce Lee: “Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot.” (Bruce Lee cited at wikiquote.org)
